I spoke with Billy Clayton and future race dates are a go.
He went as far as saying we could be a part of the regular schedule for the rest of the year and the Fall Points Series that starts in August. I told him I wanted to check with you guys and see what would work best for everyone.
My question is how do we continue to keep the gates full/semi full? Personally I can only make 3-4 more races starting in July this year, due to work and family obligations. The last thing I want to do is have him commit to the rest of the schedule and we can barely gate three or four bikes because there are too many races. No one wants to see three bikes in a class out on the track by themselves.
I'm looking for input from you guys. I would like to see a condensed schedule in order to fill the gates like we did last weekend. I think if we spread them out and give guys a chance to work around family/monetary/work schedules, we'll have a greater participation and will put on a great show. Not to mention I'm sure the free ride we got last weekend is over. The track has bills to pay and the gates won't be open long by letting guys race for free.
Billy has opened his track up to us and I think we owe it to him to put on a great show every time we race. The last thing I want is guys getting burned out or watering down the excitement of racing because we've saturated the calender with races.
Now if you guys say hell yeah I want a complete schedule and think we can gate 7-10 bikes for every race, then by all means lets do it. But just by talking to most of you guys last weekend a limited schedule seemed to work the best.
Here are the dates for the rest of the year
June 14, 28
July 12
Fall Points Series:
August 2, 23, 28
September 13, 20
October 4, 11, 18, 25
November 1
