I am not sure if bike is worth it let me know what you think

I am looking to get $300. It is an 83 and does not run. It has good
compression and good plastic and the brakes all work good. It will need the
carb cleaned and the foot shifter is broken at the spline shaft.

Looks pretty clean. You may get someone to pay that, but replacing the shift shaft is a world of hurt for most people, and not starting and running is a big unknown as well. I can't tell you how many times I've heard "all it needs is...." from someone who actually had no idea what it needed. You would probably get more if you part it out. Personally, I wouldn't pay half that price (just me, not a statement of its actual value), but if I just happened to have a YTM200 motor that ran, that would change the equation. As always, it depends on the buyer.

I think I've been eying that up on craigslist.
I just really don't need another YTM200, plus I'm running out of room in the garage.

I paid $350 for my 84 200e in the area and it ran great with no issues... even had a spare motor (with a snapped shift shaft ironically).
Then I picked up a pair of YTM200 (chain drives) both non-running. One for $60, and one for $100.

It's worth $300 if the shift shaft was good.

Is that something you can fix yourself? You'll need to split the cases I think.
Factor in a new shift shaft and a gasket kit...

But cosmetically it's in great shape.

I have a guy that could split case for semi cheap i know the bottom end work but i would want it for under $200 though

I didn't have to split the cases when i broke my 86 DX shaft. Did it with the motor in the frame. Just JAMMED it in, and used the old shaft to hold everything in place as i slide the new one in. Worked great. After ridding the piss out of it for a year, I sold that $160 DX for $500 to a pair of wicked hott chicks at like 9pm.

Must of been the cheetah print seat.
