TRI Z GURU'S .are 85 -86 triz parts the same

looking for TRI Z parts ,just wanted to know what parts interchage ,is the cooling system the same??or was it differant.

Just about every part will fit either year frame or engine. The 86 engine has a 6 speed trans but the trans cluster and forks and shift drum will fit the 85 cases.
The only differences are the 86 swing arm pivot bearings are a smaller diameter than 85.
The front forks are larger on the 86, but you can put swap the front ends as long as you keep the triples year specific. 85 to 85 forks and 86 to 86 forks. The 86 triples are swept back in rake a fraction which shortens the wheelbase.
The other differences are the air box to carb tube and the 85 throttle cable and thumb lever are different than the 86. The 86 carb is different and requires its own jetting numbers vs the 85.
All other hard parts, cooling, brakes, harnesses, footpegs, shocks, rotors, gas tanks, grab bars etc... interchange.
The 86 carb tube will not fit the 85 Z if you have the coolant ressy mounted on the front of the gas tank.

thanks Mosh ,thats what i needed to know ,i have the cooling system now i just need the other parts . any one with TRI Z parts thats on my list LET ME KNOW $$$$$$$$
