I was poking around craigslist the other day, and found this:
196253
196254
196255
And realized, DANG! those Baja style lights look good! I wanna do that!
My question is, can I wire the lights right into my original system, or does things need to be done?
And what lights should I use? The cheaper the better.
And is there a spray paint that matches the '85 200x blue?
Thanks,

I hear ya on the Baja style lights, built my own on the z, here's some pics of mock up and finished... you will need to have the stator built to handle the wattage...

I thought of throwing warrior lights on my YTM200, they have the same style, although I'm sure they are not as bright.

That's my old 200X...

That one has a Loncin e-start 200 engine in it and runs both lights without issue. The lights are Hella 500s, one fog + 1 driving, 55W each.

I also had another 200X with a similar setup connected to a stock stator. The stock stator could only run one light at a time.

For a stock stator, you might be happier with a pair of 18W LEDs. They won't look as cool as the Baja lights, but they'll be a lot cheaper and make great light.

I would love to have it. Too bad I can't afford a 1,350 dollar machine:-/
But thanks for the info. Did you build the mount/guard yourself?

I hope he gets his price. I loved that 200X but it sat a lot after I bought my 350X and 250R... I'm heavy and like dune riding.

I bought the light frames from Wild200X on the 3Wheeler.org board.

If I can part out my trax250 fast enough, and maybe a few others, and sell my X, I might try an snatch it.
Also, any reason I can just bolt a battery somewhere and run it like that?

I know at least one guy that runs his LED lights using a small battery mounted in his 250R airbox next to the air filter. He runs it total loss = no charging. The LEDs run for hours and he just recharges the battery overnight or whatever.

No reason you couldn't try the same thing with the Hellas.

There's a thread around here somewhere about setting up a charging system on a Tecate. 200X system is similar - the lights run off AC voltage.

I sent the guy a text, He's selling because he doesn't ride much, and he need money for a jeep project. I'm trying to get the money to snag it.
