Ok, so a lady at my work has this old 70's Yamaha CT175 for sale. She has thrown a $200 price at me. Now, I was okay with this until I pulled it out and got a better look at it. It needs a total go through....needs cables, clutch perch, poss. a tank, tires, seat, and basically all the work that alot of barn finds need. She has the title and the plan would be to fix it up, clean it and ride it to work and back. I cannot post pics from my phone, but the bike isnt too rusted up and is in okay shape. It does kick over and appears to have compression. So if anyone could give me a good price to purchase this at, please let me know. Thanks!

Sometimes you have to forget the purchase price. Honestly, you make it sound like a pile so I wouldn't pay $100 for it. Do you want it? How bad?
I've had dozens of bikes like you describe given to me for nothing.

Well I wish I could post pics, because its deffinately a good restorable vintage bike. It will take some work and it needs some parts, but its mostly complete and engine appears to be in decent shape. I know the "its only worth what soneone is willing to pay for it" statement. I am just looking to see if anyone knows more about these bikes, how hard parts are to find, and hopefully about what one is worth.

take it from a guy who makes his money restoring vintage bikes. that 200 dollars WILL turn into 2k really fast. honestly I would pay the 200 if she had something extra to throw in with it. like maybe another bike or an engine or a box of puppies (just something extra you can feel good about when the bike starts draining your wallet)
