Im going through the motor on my tecate and had some questions. Does anyone know which Kx intake boots fit? Mines covered in silicone. For a second question...Which connecting rod kit is the best? The only one i could find on ebay is a vesrah but I figure there might be some others available. The local shop is gonna rebuild my crank I just was curious what rod kit would be the best. Thanks in advance guys.

Alright i did some searching and found some answers. From what the interchange thread says kx boots up to 04 will fit. If i remember wasn't there a guy making the intake boots for tecates? Also read in the interchange thread that a hot rods connecting rod kit for kx250 78-07 will work on a 85 Tecate. I am just wanting some one to verify this.

jeswinehart on here makes repop intake boots. The KX in take boots for 1983-1986 will be the closest but not exact, any other intake boot off a KX250 or 500 will be angled off to the side and you cant use the air box.

Just contact jeswinehart on here. He looked at all the intake and did a write up of the differences since he began making them and selling them

I wrote the interchange thread based on internet info from manufacturers the rods should work, cant be 100% sure about all of it, but usually the manufacturers know what they are selling.

I ordered the hot rods kit so I'm gonna give it a shot. I wish there was a billet intake available.
