Hey....

Saw this Yamaha Engine on eBay for sale up in Ithaca. The guy doesn't know if it's a 200 or 225, but gave me the serial number...

the engine ser #IS 52H-012411

Here's a link to the auction too....

I think it's a 200, cause it looks like the one in my Yamahauler.... but want to make sure!

Doing a little checking I know the 85 YTM200ern motor serial number starts with 52G-000101. Knowing this I would say the motor is a 86 model. I would be willing to bet it is out of a 86 YFM200DXS That is the 200cc 4 wheeler.

Good info Howdy! The letter usually changes with model year. I got my old ATC mags out of storage today. Shows the Yamaha line up for 86. Shows both a 200 4-wheeler like you said, and a regular 200 Tri-Moto.

However, the auction ended with a high bid of $71 which didn't make the reserve. He has relisted it.... with just a Buy-It-Now option of $199.99. You'd think for that price he might make some effort to clean the motor or at least do the research to find out what model it's for, displacement!!!

Egg ZACK Lee!! You won't be seeing me bid on it, but thought I'd extend some info to the guy selling it to help him out. Heck, I got that whole Yamahauler form Trikeholic for $300, and going to pick up another identical one from MIK6 as soon as the weather turns for less than what that guy just wants for the motor, that's been in storage for 2 years and doesn't know size or anything on!

Both Holic and MIK6 are less than an hour's drive from that guy. These things are popping up all over now! Someone posted from Geneseo NY (15 minutes from me) with a 200 and a couple others in the local area here added to his thread with similar trikes. 'RARE' motor... eBay sometimes can be a strange world missing aspects of reality! :D
