My 200s has always started on first pull after the rebuild. Lately it has been taking several with choke. Also, idle has not been really smooth. I have been messing with the fuel screw because it was running rich and stalling out when hitting the throttle. Than I think I made it to lean because it started clunking loud at idle. Now its not clunking, but not starting well, and idling rough. Having trouble finding a happy medium. By the symptom's, am I running to rich or to lean?

I just pulled the plug and it was wet and smelled like gas. I'm guessing its running way to rich then? Then why do I have to choke it or give it gas to start it?

Check your spark, if its weak and orange colored, you got weak spark. Toss a new plug in it and try it. If that's not it then clean the carb. Needle could be partially sticking.

The spark did look a little weak and orange colored. I swapped it out and it fired right up. Still seems to be running a little choppy at idle though.

Clean the carb, run an inline fuel filter then get a manual and set your fuel mixture screw back to stock spec's.

Just realized I had 2 kinks in my fuel line because of the way I mounted the fuel filter. Could that cause it to run lean, or would that cause it to not run at all?

Seems to be better now, but not perfect. It will start right up, and idle fine, but then it will pop and usually stall out. The gas is a few moths old in it, so maybe the gas is getting bad? I should take it out soon and really run it rather than just putting around the yard.

A valve adjustment might be one thing to consider.

I have had great luck cleaning carbs with HOT water and laundry detergent. I use a lot of HOT water to rinse and blow them out with compressed air thoroughly.

I make sure the specs match the numbers listed on this document:

Put a new plug in. It fires right up and runs great for like 5 seconds, then starts popping and tries to stall. If you hit the gas past quarter throttle it stalls right out as well. I am going the redo the clearances to see if there ok. Still think I have a carb issue going on as well.
