I've got a 1985 honda atc 250r with the original round slide 34mm carb. Recently after running it the trottle stuck the thumb trottle wouldn't budge. After looking I realized the carb slide was stuck open. It mangages to get out of its track and gets stuck. To fix it I have to take the top of the carb off and push the slide out with just a minor force. Slide it back in and once its back in it will be fine then it happened again same thing. I think I'm on my 4th time fixing it. It will last for long awhile then out of no where usually during long day of riding it will happen again. I'm leaning toward putting a new slide in maybe the old original one is wore thin so it has a little wiggle room enough to get out of alignment but I'm not sure. Any help would be appreciated.

There's a alignment pin inside the throat of the carb, make sure that's still there or not worn down as this keeps the alignment for the slide, same goes for the slide...
