Honda atc 70 coil question

Ok I picked up a 70 just cause I love them. 1985. I cleaned and gaped the points new plug, fresh carb clean, fresh oil. And it started. Idles fine. But I now have a problem. the PO said he put a different coil on because the old wire wore through and was grounding out on the frame. Pretty sure the coil is garbage. But just trying to pinpoint my problem. The bike just dosent want to rev like the other 70s I have owned in the past. Its just bluh.... and hold steady at the bluh anywhere in the throttle range just no power. Would a coil cause this problems if its the wrong coil? Currently I ride the trike for about 5 minutes and it just dies and loses spark. Let it cool down same thing fires right up but sparks gone.

Yea sounds like the coil however I would ohm it out before I got a new one because there 70 dollars for the honda one and that is the only one I would buy. Here is the link to the coil. http://dratv.com/cig78th85at7.html
