They released their side panels today. Since they run sheet plastic, they can't do nipples. Darn shame, but they obviously have their finger on the pulse.

It's a nice alternative... but I would prefer a replica by John with no screws showing.
Maier Plastics NEEDS to start exploring new processes to their products.
These days you can get a 3d scanner, make a 3d model, turn it into a mold and use an extruder to make the piece.
A company like Maier should be able to afford such tools, it would also give them a much broader market.

I agree 100% Johns are superior. Just putting it out there :) I think the 3D has a ways to go,to say the least..

Oh they ain't that bad ManBearPig :) They don't appear they will fly off when trailered down the road ! I just wonder what took them so long to come out with those to complete their line up of replacement 250 Bigred plastics. Well.... now they have.

Well,, they are shiny!,,,,,, Ugly things lol...I would have thought they would have at least designed them with 3 button inserts to TRY and hide the bolts :( Better than nothing though.. I think the price on NOS Hondas just went up :)

I think its a step forward,it shows they recognize there is a demand for trike parts.

Agreed . I bought one from John , and love it . Just wondering , do they bolt on . or is that a bolt on connection that can be pulled off like the OEM style ?

Just a comment here ,,, I'm a Carpenter in St. Louis . Last week I worked on a remodel at a place called Poly One . Turned out to be a Thermo forming bussiness . They made all kinds of stuff . From food containers to street bike farrings . They had all the stuff hanging in the lobby . 4 wheeler fender sets , ground effects for cars and trucks ,,, hardhats . You name it . I watched the guy take a flat sheet of plastic and make a hard hat out of it ,, it was cool .

fact is they can make what they want to make .

Very cool indeed. But they can't make nipples from sheet. If they could,,believe me,they would!!

I kinda thought about calling them to tell them how to do it but figured they would think I was some kinda nut case.

Robert, I make the right side kicker cover, not the left. If I am reading their ad correct Maire sells both left + right for what,,, 90 dollars (ish) ??? ~ pretty good deal IMO.
PM me if you would like more info (please).

I wouldnt hesitate to pick up one of jeswineheart's BR side covers, if i ever needed one. i can appreciate that Maier recognizes the demand enough to put those panels into production, but with the technology available to their industry and with the resources they have, i guess i expect a little more from them these days. I suppose though, if they upgraded their molds to incorporate things like nipples and proper support bracket mounts for R and X rear fenders, they would have to upgrade all molds for all fenders for all bikes.

I suppose you dont look a gift horse in the mouth.

Hey I don't think they look bad at all and on the plus side they will match the color of your maier fenders.
