How can you tell??

You can tell that they are 86 350x wheels because they have the cast centers with the slots in them. They were a one year only wheel. The only other bike that had these wheels was the Canadian version of the 86 200x. These wheels were probably expensive to manufacture. They are very nice looking. I have them on all my ATC's.

btw... the Canadian versions have tabs welded onto the stock rear grab bar for reflectors which were required. They also had front reflectors mounted to the forks.

ah ok well the aussie version is the same as the canadian model so that explains it they are OEM wheels for the OZ model I also have mounts for reflectors on every single 3 wheeler I own including these 2

Somethings different about that muffler on the 85 X...the baffle looks weird.

Otherwise it's roughly the same shape my dads is in.

Congrats on the purchase of all 3 machines though man.

The 85 sitting in my shed looks like this and it's a bone stock as you're going to find. Looks like the one that's on your R. The one on the 85 looks like part of it's off a different bike or something...

6 speed thumpster, I have been looking for a set for about 12 months now. 2 sets of new NOS 200e es m fenders did come up. One went for 650$ which i was the higghest bidder until i fell asleep and didnt set my alarm for 4am (just before auction finished). So the guy won the bid and put the same fenders on ebay the following weel for 1200$ and after 30 days he took them off. So i emailed him and he said he sold them. Very hard to find, I just use my ebay app on my iphone and save 200es fenders and check everyday. I almost had a heart attack when they came up, wanted to bid straight away, but i waited 7 days and the last 10 seconds and put a bid off 1000$. I have restored a 200es and stripped everything down and his will be the only thing i need to finish it. Well worth the wait.

Jake, the 2nd gen 200x frames and swingarms are weak. Yours is twisted pretty bad.

Forks can almost always be repaired. Yours don't look too bad. The forks on the Wicked X were bent badly three ways each before I straightened them. They work perfectly with no leaks.

Looks like the 86 I bought, which I sold as fast as I could find a buyer to pay what I had into it after straightening it out.

Looks like you have a couple other toys scattered in there!

Ok today wasn't very successful I blew up 2 2strokes in 2 hours!! the first was a suzuki dirt bike I was about to sell that didn't worry me to much since it was really only a beater but then I pulled out red devil and went for a ride all was going good and then after about 15 mins I heard a clunk clunk and as I went to shut her off she locked up so I just gently tried to kick it over and it moved one click and then it just locked up solid no movement at all!! so I had to get dad to tow me back at first dad thought the gearbox may have locked up but the oil was clean and everything then we thought it may have snapped the rod but the case is all intact and it didn't make any really loud noises!! its not running lean I am running 40:1 looking through the spark plug hole the piston looks good from what I could see so im going to put my freshly rebuilt engine in tomorrow that I got with the bike and I will pull this one apart and check it out I think it pinched a ring!! any opinions??

jakep53
08-30-2014, 08:19 PM
Ok I opened the motor up and I think it was my fault since it looks like the piston has grabbed so I'm putting my spare motor in now so a couple of questions what oil to run what ratio and how do I run it in since I've never run in a 2 stroke before!!

slashfan7964
08-30-2014, 08:48 PM
Normal 2 stroke oil will work. Not sure on the ratio, I'm not extremely experienced with 2 strokes.

jakep53
08-30-2014, 09:01 PM
Ok im quite confused now I have been doing a lot of reading and everyone says run 32:1 or 40:1 now I am confused what caused my motor to seize up since I was running 40:1 clean air filter slightly rich mixture and when I opened it up there is 4 places where the piston has grabbed in each corner of the cylinder!! WHy did this happen cause I do not want this to happen to my fresh motor!! even this one has just been rebuilt so I was a little pissed!!

danbur55
08-30-2014, 09:15 PM
There's your problem "corners in a cylinder" sorry but I couldnt resist myself on that one. It's a mechanical type thing but do you let it get to operating temp before you take off wide open?? 2 strokes don't seem to like that

tony8008
08-30-2014, 09:30 PM
not an expert by any means, but if its bored and has the wrong size piston it would have a lot of extra movement...

08-31-2014, 07:19 PM
hey just my 2 cents but any 2 stroke oil will not work use only ones that are designed for atvs. i use old school klotz for the old race smell my buddy uses castrol but everybody has a different oil. dont use the kind you can get from a box store made for lawn equipment you will burn the motor up. i run 32:1 on my liquid r just to be safe because it is alot easier to replace a fouled plug than a burnt piston. liquid r's suggest running 25:1 from the factory to help prevent that from happening.

6speedthumper
08-31-2014, 11:01 PM
If I'm not mistaken, the air cooled r's are recommended 20:1 by Honda. Most, but not all, 2 strokes will be fine on either 32:1 or 40:1. Me personally, I'd go with 32:1, or whatever the manufacturer recommends.

first of all, nice bikes. and second, if its a stock motor and u can get it, use gold spectrum 2 stroke oil. 1 bottle per 5 galons of petrol. my bike runs great on it. sputters a bit but i think my jets are getting clogged. it changed my mix ratio but the guy told me that the advance technology of the oils is much better these days and would be fine. my bike smokes like a 2 stroke and sounds like one while running. im happy with it.
