Last Friday the tranny went out on our van. Friday I got a different tranny and installed it. I didn't get 45 miles on it and now it has failed also. It worked fine for 1 1/2 days then WAMMMM No Over drive, No reverse, No low gears.
You can bet the the place where I got it will hear from me in the morning. Too bad they aren't open tonight. I am not very happy at this point.

Yea, I should be at work, I had to call in because of NO wheels. arggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg

Sorry not trike related but I had to vent.

Man that sucks, when ever something breaks down at my house, there is usually a week or two that follows, where anything with wheels starts having problems, it's like were cursed for that period of time or something, lol!

heh...you should cruise to work on a 3-wheela :D

40 mile a day round trip on 3 wheeler would kill a 3 wheeler. But the thought has crossed my mind. I do have some possible good news. The one local dealer got a Truck in that is everything ( but price ) that we ( I ) wanted. Just got back from a test drive. We put in for a loan on it after we got a good deal on the price. They said we would know yet today.
I don't see a problem with getting a loan. But with my streak of bad luck I am keeping my fingers are crossed.

I will keep you informed.

What year and kind of van is it howdy?

The van is a 1991 Mazda MPV ( Should be POS ) 2wd 3.0l motor. The yard called and they are getting me another tranny shipped in. I will install it and park the van out to the road for sale.

I just got the call and I will be driving my Truck I just bought. Looks like my NY trip is about to be rescheduled. Pictures to come soon. ;)

I know just how ya feel howdy, I had a 87 GMC pickup,4x4, 1/2T with a 350 4 bbl/4bolt and I smoked 3 trannys in it, first was the orig tranny, a TH-350 turbo, blew it apart at the local truck pull, took 4th place but then it died on the ride home, Then i put a TH-700R4 in it, that one died going over to the farm about 4 days after I installed it, then I smoked a rebuilt 700R4 plowing one day, finaly I sold it and bought a 85 Ford F-250(along with my 92 F-250) has C6 tranny and 400C motor, 4x4 with a fisher plow, I've used it all winter and had no problems with any thing on it. Was your replacement tranny new or used?

AWESOME! put me down for some gas $$$. I will get the Tiger out so you can take a spin, if there is not too much snow. That should make it all worth your while!! Im very happy to hear good news. Im not too big on the car payment either, but The lack of hassles is the reason. Plus, I want
the wife and kids not to be stranded or worse!!
I was planning on making the trip to Sr's this saturday, but I got called into work saturday night (I dont know why I still work for these people after they DENIED my application for a full time postion??!!!! guess im good enough to do the boring work!)

Does that van use a kickdown linkage or TV cable to control the transmission?

Howdy
01-12-2004, 08:37 PM
It uses a linkage for shifting. It uses electronics for the kick down, and power mode.
I took care to note where the linkage was when I removed the original. I even double checked it for adjustment when first started.
