Hey all,

1986 TRX70

Stripped the spark plug hole. Pulled the head off, tapped spark plug hole one size up to 12m-1m, replaced head gasket, timed the cam TDC on compression stroke, and now it wont idle.

Getting 90psi on a compression test WOT. Is this normal?

The bike runs, but won't idle. Bike hadn't been ran for about 9 months prior to pulling the head off. Need to know if I have a head issue or carb issue.

Ideas?

Thanks!

Probably should have lapped the valves and new rings while it was apart . 90 psi isn't enough to idle

I'll probably end up doing that now, but what I don't understand is why it ran fine before and not now.. Almost makes me wonder if I'm off a tooth on the cam or if I bolted the cam washer 180 degrees off or something..

Thanks for the advise.
