I've got an 85 110 with no spark at the black and yellow wire coming from the CDI box to the coil. I have replaced the CDI box, coil, cleaned the flywheel, stator and set the gap on the pulse generator but can't get power to the coil. The CDI and coil was removed from my running 110 so I know they're working properly. Does anyone have any ideas on what the problem could be?

have you looked at the spark advancer if its broken you will not have spark.

That's the spring loaded plate under the cdi cover on the head right?

It seems to work just as good as the one on the running 110 and I have power coming from it when I turn the engine over. I got intermittent spark when I first started working on it but now I've got nothing. I also changed the kill switch and checked the grounds.

Do you have a Ohm meter? The service manual has the specs what the coil should read as well as how to test the stator and the pulse generator, let us know what your readings are. Since you know the CDI is good, I'd say you can skip the test process on that.

One other point to bring up, how about the spark plug?! I have had experience with spark problems, and it ended up being the actual plug even if it don't look *that* bad.

Intermittent spark may indicate corrosion at the wire connections. Wire brushing the connections may get it working and then go back and put dielectric grease on those brushed connections to prevent future problems.

Most likely the stator . Here is the correct one and its easy to replace .

I checked the stator and pulse generator today with the ohm meter and they were both in the same range as the ones on the running 110. The link for the manual didn't work for me so I just compared the readings from the running trike. I've checked the entire harness for broken wires and cleaned all connections but still don't have any power to the coil. I've been working on these things for years but this one really has me scratching my head.

The service manual auto link goes to a thread on here, the last page has a working link.

There is also this site: http://www.atcmanuals.info/

When you get to the manual link, it would be best to right click -> save link location.

What year is your machine? I'm pretty sure I have a 79-81 era atc110 stator around yet. Most of the time ebay or buying a parts machine is the easiest way to find used parts. Some select parts you can get from Honda, and some aftermarket, but most parts it will be used market only.

sorry for the late response. Its an 84 110.

The 83-85 110 will use the same stator coil as the Atc 185-200 models , you will have to soldier it in .

So, I had an old 200s parts motor that I got from that Maine-iac BrenDown like five years ago. Last night I took the stator from that and soldered in the swapped connectors. Nice blue spark!! Awesome. Thanks for the help. Cost = Zero!

Nice work. Also just a small update on the year range, should be 82 as well, not sure 100% on 85. 82-84 used the same stator based on part number.

BTW, the one I had was the wrong style anyway (81 and older style)
