I have not been doing any polishing lately for a number of reasons. Yesterday while it was in the low 100's with some humidity I felt I needed to torture myself and get one done for a local triker. One turned into three.

All three tanks I could start with 600 paper and I finished with some worn out 1000 grit. I had no intentions on removing all the imperfections. It is not worth the time anymore to do so, no one is willing to pay for the time and effort. The last tank had some spider cracks and those will show up once gas is put in the tank, no way around it. They still shine though and look great. See pic #8 or the first pic of the "Not as nice tank" for detailed image of spider cracks.

------------->Oh and yes they all need a little more work around the filler neck<------------- :beer.....I am getting lazy in my elder years.

His tank was pretty nice to start with and came out fantastic.

The other two I got in a recent parts lot. One was really nice and went to fire1 and I believe the other one will go to a fellow local racer who is not on the board, if it does not sell here.

I am very leery of who I do this work for having had an issue on another social media site. It is simply not worth the hassle of dealing with internet tough guys who hate themselves and everyone around them.

cbx1170's tank.

Just after wet sand and compound, you can see swirl marks that get removed with the polishing step.

Ah man - I thought I was going to see a CBX powered trike...

At least the tanks look great!

I can believe few people want to pay for it - it's A LOT of work. I've done less than perfect jobs on a few and it still took a lot of time.
