New jerysey motorsports park "field of dreams" opened. I sent them a message on facebook if trikes are allowed, got a reply that they are illegal in NJ. I responded and then called them up. I asked his if the INSURANCE COMPANY says they aren't allowed. He said something about the insurance company not allowing them and continued on about them being illegal to own and operate in NJ. I asked him if a large group of trikes cam how could be let on? He responded that he can't allow them. I then said, what would it take for the INSURANCE COMPANY to allow. I then asked him about this "law, banning them". He said it came from his superiors, he doesn't know of such a law. BS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone call them and flood them with phone calls about trikes and ask them for article numbers of the laws "banning" them. All he would have needed to say is something like "sorry, my insurance company doesn't allow them", but FLAT OUT lied to avoid the whole issue.

Yeah, I think this would be a bad idea. Bringing attention to this kind of thing will only cause problems, not resolve anything.
I have a bad feeling the resurgence will be the second undoing.

I fear you are right. There are less underwriters that there are insurance companies and from what I'm told they talk to each other frequently and with candor.

So sadly we are undoing everything that has happened in the past 14 years. Started with trikes at parks in small numbers, where we were kinda the exception to norm. We got in at more places over the years, but that brought attention to us. Remember how excited you were about trikes in dirtwheels and 4 wheel atv? Then came black sheep"tpc trike, formally mr atc" in magazines with his conversions. Next we got more attention when dirtwheels had trike racing in cali returned, made headlines in several nationals. Next we made to the cover and articles in dirtwheels. But all this has backfired on us, unfortunitely.

the more you flood the market with photos of racing on magazine covers the more your are going to get sent to the time out corner. Ride you trike on person property of free land. motosport parks are just going to give someone the willies.

There's a big track opening soon here in Florida. It called florida track and trails, I wonder if they are going to let us ride? I'm just going to show up with my 3 & 4 wheeler. Sometimes calling is setting us up for them to say NO.

Insurance companies can pet my meow.
Yeah just do it........zip-tie a lawn mower wheel to the trike and there you go......it`s got 4 wheels !
Exactly, put it right on the swingarm and say it's a quad. If they argue that it has to be functional, say it acts like a wheelie bar. meow 'em.

I still don't understand how they consider a trike more dangerous then a dirtbike.

To all trikes are not illegal as Can Am, Harley Davidson, and now Polaris all make road legal one's. So for those of you dealing with this problem, just dig a little deeper and prove to them they are just discriminating a certain group of trike.

again,,, and just reiterating what i wrote in a similar thread,,,, find the person that made the decision. Ask them why. Not "the company" or "the corporation" or "the agency." I still feel that this is a case of misinformation being promulgated through lack of communication. Nobody is owning the decision. It has no foundation, so i believe it can be overturned. But, nobody is gonna do it for you. You gotta bother some people with questions.
