Stock or aftermarket air filter?

Need a new air filter for my 250r as the original one is deteriorating, is it best to find an original or is using a uni/k&n just fine?

A k and n air filter is the best but is about 50 bucks. I don't see that much of a difference between stock and uni so it's all up to what's available and what you want to spend.

I use the UNI stock replacements.
I would use OEM if available. Usually they are not.
I prefer the oiled foam style like the UNIs over the K&N style.
I believe the K&N oil & gauze let dirt through.

Uni for dirt, mud, trail, or putting around on dusty roads. k&n for sand. Each need to be cleaned and oiled properly. I have a k&n with outerwear a off of my 85 r just sitting around collecting dust. PM if you want to buy it....I doubt I will ever use it.
