Got a question on the charging system. We are having a hard time getting the goki set up to charge the batt. It's wired per the goki instructions, but does not charge the battery. Start with a full charge and before long batt is dead. I'm sure I left out some key information, but if it's a problem someone has already come across maybe the input could save a little time.
As always thank you for your time.
Have you tried contacting goki yet? I'm sure they could give you a good place to start looking.

Start the trike , pull the batt cable off and put a DC volt meter on the cable to see if its pushing power back to the battery. If not the little chingaderra in the yellow wire might be toast. Make sure you are useing the big battery that is called out in the Goki instructions or it just won't last very long. The charging system acts more like a trickle charger than a real charging system so you need that large battery. If your lights are on It may not re-charge at all.

Ya called goki. Useless as ti..... Well you know the rest. Got what your saying bout the trickle charge. Just had a little batt trying to see if it worked.
So what your saying is if I don't use the batt they recommend the starter won't last long?
Thanks guys!!!

is there a higher voltage stator available for the 350x? seems like no battery will last long on a trickle charge.

I've never seen a higher voltage stator, but there may be one out there. As far as help from Goki, I have had real good luck with them. If you converce through Email you seem to get a better response. I found them very helpfull. The little "diode" that is in the small wire that feeds the battery( I believe it's in the yellow wire) is what switches it from AC voltage to DC voltage to charge the battery. If it is damaged it won't charge. I am in no way an electrical guru so I don't know how many amps the charging system puts out, but I do know that with the bike at idle the charge wire puts out just about 12 volts. Hit the gas a bit and it jumps up to almost 14v. I did try a smaller battery and would only get a few starts out of it until it started to drag if I didn't take it for a long ride. The bigger batt has a lot more reserve power to compensate for the drain.
