We do work for Honda supplier that makes jigs and specialty items for them. They were doing a special project for the new NSX car, and he went off on a tangent about how in the late 80's they were trying to make the ATC's in ATV's because they had thousands of them in crates. I asked what happened to them and he said they ended up in Mexico in a warehouse. Has anybody ever seen a new ATC in mexico? I think I am going to ask him if he can find out if they are still there or what happened to them, anybody else hear this story?

200X's actually were made into Quads. SX's became Farm Runners, and Big Reds went on for another model year as Big Reds and Super Reds respectively/. Don't know about them being warehoused in Mexico.. Anything at all was possible back then..

they also made the 200es into quads as well in 1984 I am working on one right now I know it was before the production ban but I feel it was the start to see if the could.

You mean a 1984 TRX 200 I assume? They are actually a full blown production quad. Honda literally made the 200X's into quads, after they were born as ATC's :( See Dirt Wheels post above for pics.

yes the 84 trx 200 Iknow it was born as a quad but as I have all the plastics off to plastic weld them. I looked at it from the motor back and it is the 200es frame, without a doubt, minus the rear swing arm. there is even a trike neck on there of course much further forward, but I will get some pics today of it to show the frame and motor for you guys. Might not get them posted today as I have to finish it up to sell it but I'll get them up for you soon.

In the last pic you can see the down tube of the es frame, second to last is the the steering stem neck with bearings in it, third pic vaguely shows the the steering stem lock nut which is identical to the es setup. the oil looking stain on the motor isn't the head gasket, was rotting fuel lines which I have since replaced, and the oil on the starter is from me adjusting the valves they were way too tight. But enough of this not trying to take over the thread this bike was japan made.
