Hello all, it's been a while since I posted here. A long while. It's a wonder I remembered I had an account to find the password to. I never did come on here a lot so I apparently never accumulated enough posts to get full membership.

But I'm glad to find the remainder of us who are still into 3 wheelers. I may have took a break from them, but I literally grew up on them, so I have a feeling I'm not done with them yet.

I guess the next best thing to pulling a strangers dust covered 3 wheeler out of the shed is to pull a familiar one out. My poor ATC was neglected, I went to school, got a job, and got into full size 4x4's. I never should have let it get so run down, but while it's been in the shed, I've been accumulating more mechanical skills, and a lot more tools, since I was a teenager knocking around on it, I'm hoping when I get done it is in better shape than the day I bought it.

A few weeks ago my Dad asked if I would help him get his 250SX back up and running. Well I took it on and found it quite enjoyable to work with after tinkering with trucks, so small, simple, and easy to access. Got it up and running with only a few days work on it overall. It's still not starting right, runs great once it does though, I haven't figured that out yet. And I'm waiting on the stuff to re-upholster the seat.

Back to my 250ES, as of this evening I've got the carb off, probably put it in the dip sometime tomorrow. Needs a lot more cleaning. So far my initial assessment is I need:
New handlebar grips
New battery
Full carb rebuild, new fuel lines/ misc. hoses
New rear tires, (dry rot cracks) possibly wheels, and maybe a front tire just because I can't stand seeing one old ugly tire next to the new ones....
I think it has the one way bearing issue in the clutch.
I think it also has the timing chain clicking.
All the brakes need an overhaul.
All the fluids/ maintenance items need replacing.
Ditch the winch....
And other stuff I'm sure I'll discover along the way.

So far I haven't hit anything that has puzzled me too much, but I have a feeling I might. So I may be coming in here to ask some questions on some things I've never worked on before.

Here are "before" photos of my Big Red, and some Honda tool kits I found I stored in it (the stock bag and some extra stuff I had)

Gotta love the BRs. Doesn't look that bad. A good wash and rinse could do some justice. I'm currently rebuilding one that was donated to me. It will be somewhat of a hybrid though. Overhauling a lot of the bearings. Be sure to check your rear differential.202716

I would love to have those fenders. If you need anything I will be in grand rivers the day after thanksgiving. I have many many parts.
