My gas tank on my 83 big red is still leaking. I've tried every thing I can think of from jb weld to red Kote and it all works at first but after about a week it starts leaking again? Is there anything else I can do or is there anybody that has a good tank that they want to get rid of?:wondering

Although they are not pretty, the plastic tanks are an option. You would never have to worry about a plastic tank rusting.

Thanks, jb weld used to work pretty well before the ethanol additive. About a week is all I can get out of it. I hate the ugly plastic tank, that's why I was trying to patch the original. :beer

Anther option is buying a used tank off of ebay.

if you can find a good used tank for less then 100$ buy it cause thats roughly about what this sealant runs for

Take it to a radiator shop and let them fix it .

DO NOT USE KREEM! It peels off within a year. Take it from experience and go buy this gas tank sealant made by caswell. Its like 50 bucks and coats up to 10 gallons. Best stuff ever, you can also use it for bonding things together it says on the can, so we put 2 pieces of wood together with it and we couldn't get it apart! Very good investment
