If you had to drive in the desert in one direction, not speeding (no sport trike advantage), unlimited gas, which ATC would you want to ride on (which will last longest)

The 350x isn't a sport bike, so I would say the 350x.

I'd say my little 185s , just wish it had a softer seat for a long ride in the desert. (can you say Butt Sore?)

I say a 85/86 250r, even if it is a sport trike if they are left mostly stock they don't break. We just pulled the ORGINAL piston out of my buddy's '86. Not because it broke but he wanted to freshen it up for a little more low end torque for the woods!!! I call that reliable, 18 years on a 2 stroke piston!!
John
I'd go for a 225DR myself.

I agree, ATC 250SX.
Even towing an ATC 125m that slipped it's drive chain off with a 170 pound friend who put a nail in EACH of his feet  , who rode on the 125 all the way back, it still rode good across about 12 miles of marsh and trail.
Busted 1984 125M - 277lbs
freind with holy feet - 170lbs
That was the first real trip with my 250SX, I was more than pleased with it. :-D

i would say a 200x if gas was an issue but since its a sport model i would have to go to a 250r (not sport, its a race model)

I second that ATC200S call ..... I had mine for 9 years - never had any major mechanical breakdowns in that time.

200X
Comfortable suspension
Light enough to pull out of the sand
easy to ride
as reliable as any other atc
The chain would probably give trouble first.

225DR ...
You are allowed to use sport trikes just dont think of it because they are faster that you will get there quicker thats why he said no advantage for sport trikes ....

I would have to say the 200X. Very reliable with a little suspension to soak up the bumps.

I would have to say the 185's with the auto clutch and pull start.
I have put several of them through absolute hell on trails, put em away wet and they still run stong.

Big Red 250es. The 250sx is close but with the 250es I can strap a couple of Kegs on the rack and tow a trailer full of naked women with the trusty trailer hitch.

Why cant you do this with the SX? It has racks and a trailer hitch...

I would take either but the SX didn't come standard with the racks. :-P
Besides the Big Red 's front light comes off which is good when looking for the tap for the kegs. Also the women like the name "BIG RED" better
Seroiusly though my choice would be the Big Red or the SX. Indestructable machines

In regards to my 250 SX, many of my female friends do refer to it as "That SeXy 250". :-D
I may need to do some custom graphics for it.
