225dx rear shock upgrade ?

Does anyone know of a rear shock to upgrade the current one on my 225dx. I took mine to the dunes a few weeks ago and man that thing beat me up. Seems like the rear shock is shot, only a few inches of suspension travel. So is there another oe shock from another Atv that would would and maybe improve the ride quality? I tried the shock of my blaster and it's too short. I was thinking maybe a shock off of a Yamaha big bear. Does anyone have any info or has anyone done anything like this. Any help would be appreciated.

Curious did you find a solution? I too have a DX with too soft of a tail

sounds to me like you guys have more of a weakened shock to me, mine is pretty stiff and my forks are a little softer, but you might want to look into maybe a chinese quad duplicate, not sure if there is one but worth a shot.

I wish there was an option for more travel in the rear. My shock works fine for trail riding but you try and get frisky and go off a little jump and you bottom out easy. I don't mind the front forks, nice and soft for the trails. I would like to do the tri z swap in the spring if i can find an upgrade for the rear.

No sense to me of having an awesome front setup and still having a crappy rear. But it does look cooler.
