Has anyone had any experience running a Lectron carb on an 85 250R? I had one on my 83 years ago and really liked it. It worked great and was easy to dial in. I never hear about anyone running one anymore. I am going to start a resto-mod on my 85 soon and I'm thinking about getting one for it. Any info would be appreciated.

About the only people I hear of running Lectrons are using them on machines built specifically for drag and hill shooting.
I have not used one myself, but I would think the shear size of them kind of leans toward higher peak RPM power and less low/mid.
Isn't the smallest Lectron something like 48mm???

I had on my big bore tecate back in the day. She was strictly a drag set up with alcohol and all ,but as said pervious I think it would be trail worthy.

The one I had on my '83 was a 38mm. I used to trail ride it all of the time. I was running stock bore, a Bassani pipe, ported, and a Yamaha YZ250 head. (I know you all are scratching your heads right now) That setup worked very well. A couple of friends that I rode with every weekend bought new KXT250s while I was running that setup and they couldn't begin to stay with me. I just remember the ease in tuning that carb and I like to be different than everybody else.

Wow! I was unaware of that carb. Very interesting concept. Could be a possibility . Might have to miss a few meals to afford it though.

I didn't see the cast price. I just saw the billet. 375 is easier to swallow.

I ran a 38mm lectron on my R for a little bit. It sucked down low but pulled extremely hard mid/top end. I worked with he guys at lectron to try and get it where i wanted but could never get it dialed right even with different needles and power jets.. Great for drag racing though like stated.
