Picked this 85 T3 up Saturday morning. Pretty hard to find in my neck of the woods so I immediately jumped on it. I got the basket case for 500 bucks. Needs a radiator and carb as of right now. Frame is solid and it's a good foundation for a restoration. The seller was trying to part it out on CL an I couldn't let that happen to a T3! I got a bunch of extra parts, flywheels, coils, headlight guards, radiator guards, front axles, 84 front hub/brake assembly etc.....

Picked up these 18x11-10 Hoosiers a few weeks ago. Also bought a Chinese radiator off of ebay. We'll see how she holds up soon enough. Beats buying a used 30yr old radiator in my opinion. Concentrated on the engine and brakes as of now.

looks like a rough start. How bad could that radiator be? The stock radiators kinda sucked (holes/broken brackets).

I would read up so you can find cheaper better parts that work like 300EX Honda rear shock and stuff like that. Try my thread here for info:

When I got my 1984 KXt250, I just found a 1984 Kx250 with a running motor and threw that in there. Used parts for the 84/85 are easier and cheaper to find.

It's a basket case yes but I've always wanted a T3 and found this one a few miles from my house for 500 bucks. It has 84 hubs which are 4x4 lug pattern, after market rear plastics not sure what brand though. I got tons of extra parts with it as well. As far as the radiator it appears to be thicker so it should cool better and all 3 tabs are pretty thick with good solid welds.
The shocks, well I have 2 and I'll end up using the better one for the time being. I've started wet sanding the gas tank to try to save a buck although I'd love to buy a brand new one from Clarke. It's shining up pretty decent with just wet sanding. Polish and a good buffing it will look 10x better

It's getting there piece by piece. Tax time will finish it for sure! I have a new 2 tone black and green gripper seat coming as well as miscellaneous parts radiator grommets. Some brake parts and seat latch since mine is broke. Purple fork boots and swing arm bearings. I've been looking a some 10" polished Douglas wheels. Steel wheels are just so heavy and mine have been spray bombed a few times.
