I celebrate Festivus...for the rest of us!
Christmas is a nice time of year, but I resent how it gets tucked up one's ahss right after friggen Halloween, one of the many reasons I do not watch television anymore and haven't for years. And I also don't go out and buy sh*t, more pointless materialism.
Woops, didn't listen to the link in the first post, silly me.

In years past, our family would celebrate Christmas with gifts and reading the birth of Jesus in the Bible, but recently we've moved away from all the gift giving. Maybe get each other some little something, but buying 5 things for every person in our huge family, and spending months shopping for that perfect gift, isn't practical. We've moved away from what i like to call "Corporate Christmas" and just get the people around us a small gift or maybe something they really need. We mainly visit family, have a nice meal and let that be that.

I adopted a Christmas everyday attitude many years ago. And it has payed off in spades. You get so much more back than you give. That wasn't my philosophy going in. Nor my goal lol. It just simply happens. And the more you give, the more is layed out in front of you to work with. Amazing ,eye opening stuff. Almost weekly occurences of complete miraculous oppurtunities to help others.

It's called being a Servant Leader. If you help enough other people get what they want you will get what you want.

Yupp, I always had a feeling your life went that a way Bill.
Not real easy for most folks to understand but it happens all the time IF we let it.
People ask me how stuff happens, needing firewood or truck parts, a fridge or whatEVER and POOF
a day or so later, thing can and DO appear.
Not real sure of the basis of this type of philosophy but surely it is faith based in some way.
I see soooo many people swimming upstream, it breaks my heart to know that things can be easy easy and darnnear magical, If we let it, allow it, believe it.
