Hey guys (girls too) was wondering how long it is safe to ride on a rocky front bearing on the front tire of my 85 110:confused:

Not sure what's in there but it may eat some sleeve spacers or make it really hard to get apart.
Then again, I have a few like that so I oil them and just ride real slow, typically walking speed
and a few hundred yards a month.
I'm convincing myself that oiling them will make the repair easier.
12 bucks on ebay with free shipping by the way.

If it seems bad just change it. Like tri again said, they're less than $15 bucks free ship off eBay. Isn't worth risking spinning a bearing on the axle shaft. Then you'll have to replace that too

worst case the bearing will collapse and you may bend your axle.
you can straighten then axle fairly easily, as for changing them a fair size hammer and good long drift/punch.

With this weather, you may get away with a ski on the front.
but seriously, start soaking with penetrant. May take a week to get apart
or it may just fall apart.
depends on corrosion, salt etc.

Replace them as stated before. Usually the biggest issue is when the inner sleeve decides to seize itself onto your axle. Then the bearings can be a real pain to replace. But they still need to be done, period!
