Ytm200 Electric start just spins but won't engage

i am working on my 85 ytm200ern and the starter spins but doesn't engage and actually turn over the motor. It did but now it's not. What could cause this? And how do I fix it? Battery is good. Starter spins just doesn't engage

one way starter clutch is bad!

Mine did something like that when I got it so I changed the starter & solenoid. Voila, started right up, saved my shoulder for the last 6 months.
