Hi,
Anyone have info on these machines.
I remember seeing them in the mags but I have not heard of anyone finding or restoring one.
It would be a cool project.

I have been searching for years for info or pics, there's not much out there.
This link has some good info (scroll down)

These trikes must be out there...somewhere!

I just found an article in an old "3wheeler" mag that gave a brief test of the 175 and 250 machines.
The frames were made by Malcolm Miller, I could'nt find any info on him.
They appeared to be straight up conversions from the tri moto and yz.
I still cannot believe these bikes have not appeared anywhere.
I would love to do a 81 or 82 yz 250 build with the original frame.
Thanks,
Phil

We had a 1979 Yamaha YZ400 converted by Dirt E Werks in flagstaff, AZ back in the day, it had a ton of issues but was scary fast!

Here's a little from an interview with Mike Coe.
This was taken from air foolers.com.

the-dirt-factory,
I do have a number of great memories of Ace Williams. Most of our interaction wastrailpro Mentor/protege experiences. I don't ever remember racing against Ace. I mostly raced his YZ250 powered 3 wheeler built by him and Billy Tally at 3B Lightning. I was entered in the 1981 SCORE Riverside race just prior to Ace's untimely accident. I never rode the Yamaha again. I can tell you it was fast and handled great. I feel certain I would have finished first overall with that trike if I had raced it, beating both Dean Sundahl and Mark Weixeldorfer handily. I won a number of local events on the trike racing against the Honda riders in the 6 weeks or so prior to Aces accident.trailpro Honda was NOT happy about this trike! It was ahead of it's time. In fact, Ace was actually building a near duplicate of this trike, except with a CR450 engine and ATC250 fenders.
