Tab on front hub

I got a speedometer set up I been wanting to put on for awhile now problem is I have no tab on my hub. My hub is great shape and it has new bearings and seals in it I really don't want to buy another hub that's rusted out and bearings and seals and put them in again. Can I just weld a tab on my hub? Anybody ever improvise for the tab on the hub?

Should be able too do that, as long at the tab is the same material as the hub.
