need some expert advice on removing bolts please.

Hi guys,
I have a 85r and the shrouds on the tank are broke so i'm wanting to replace them, however when I try to take out the bolts the nuts just spin with them and I can't get the darn things off. Does anyone have any advice on how to get the bolts out without destroying the gas tank???

You can try heating up the area around the nut with a soldering iron or heat gun. Might be able to get the plastic to re-set up a bit so you can remove said bolt. I've also heard of guys putting a small drop of super glue around the nut to get it to stay put, I've never done this though so i can't say whether it works or not.

Depending on how bad the shrouds are it may me easier to just break them off from the bolts. Now the bolts are easy to be seen. Super glue the nuts in and wait a while. try turning on the bolt. if nut turns loose from tank again I do not know, but to try tapping on it to break the bond of nut to bolt. Once apart anti seize is our friend. Hope you get them.
