Hey Guys thought I would post this in a new tread. I have had a few guys asking about the bike so figured I would post some pics and info.
I started posting in an older tread about an Ascot 500 trike.
http://www.3wheelerworld.com/showthread.php/138397-84-ascott-500

Here is text from that tread:

I was turned on to the bike by Whitetail Hunter. It was down in his neck of the woods in Florida. I had a friend pick it up for me and he got in with it yesterday. Haven't had a chance to really check it out. I dropped it off over at my parents shop. Had Christmas functions last night but going by later today to take a closer look at what I have.

It was an early Christmas present to Me and My Brother. Been looking for a Nicholson framed bike.....really want a 185/200.

Have Big plans for this bike. Really cant believe I now own an early Nick 500.

*** I'll post more pic's later. ***

Still haven't had a chance to go over and check out the bike.....
Just too busy with work and the Holidays. I'm going to my parents for Christmas tomorrow evening and I'll get back there and take a closer look.
The story is the guy I bought it from Step Father purchased this bike and another bike new and has had it all these years...... His step father is now close to 90. He said he sold the other bike several years back. He purchased them to ride around on his property. He claims the mileage on the speedo is correct at 92 miles. It's hard to tell from the pic's but the swing arm, shock springs, axle, motor mounts and the side cases were all chromed. The tank is from a Suzuki and the rear fenders are fiberglass. The paint is definitely period correct early 80's style. It does have a signature on the tank. If anyone recognized it please let me know. Also it has some interesting wording on the fenders. On the back it has "Big Moe".....and on the side it has "Rocket POP". The paint is in really good shape for its age. The owner did have West Coast connections. He was friends with someone with ties to the NBA and traveled from California to Florida.
Interesting bike for sure. Does look like it was set up for the street but the front Goodyear is kind of a strange choice. Although it does have a wheel weight like it was balanced. lol
Wish I knew more about the history. The son could not get much out of his step father. He kept going back and forth on if he really wanted to sell. Fortunately he did.
Check out the pic's I have so far and you guys let me know what you think.

These pics are from the other day.

Cool Bike for Sure. Wish I knew more about it's history. It does have an Ascot motor with internal work. I can tell from looking down the intake the head is ported and it has a 38mm carb. Going to get it running maybe this weekend. :) If anyone recognizes this bike or knows anything about its history please let me know.

Thanks 3WW!
Joseph

The Ascots looked a lot better stripped down, or better yet made into "Big Moes":) I can see why someone would have wanted to put one of the engines into a trike back them. A lot of dirt guys took a second look when one was featured in Dirt Bike magazine, they were a phenomena like the Mazda Miata of bikes the way I remember them.

I can just imagine the double takes that trike got rolling down the road back then.

Well....... "Big Moe" Lives!

Had to order a new battery for the bike as well as clean the carb and check a few other things before trying to start it.
It's been cold around here and really haven't wanted to get out to much but the weather has turned in the past couple of days and it has been very nice. Excellent trike weather so I went over to the shop and installed the battery, put in fresh gas, changed the oil, made sure it was firing and would turn over........hit the starter and it fired right up. All I had to do was adjust the idle. Did not think it would be that easy. Next I took it for a spin. It will haul ass. I have a two acre lot behind the house and I couldn't get over second gear. Everything worked. Even the horn. LOL.

Stay tuned. More to come on "Big Moe"!!! :beer

*** UPDATE ***

Well from the power of social media looks like "Big Moe" has resurfaced. Currently in the process of finding out more about the trike. But in the mean time, how about a pic of "Big Moe" from back in the day!

So when did you sell it?

I still have it. It appears someone posted a pic on FB stating their neighbor owned the bike and the pic was from back in the day. I'm assuming a pic he took of the bike.
When I purchased the bike little was know about it's history. I'm hoping the person who posted the pic can shed some light on the subject.
