85R Crankcase Breather Tube Routing???

I'm hoping someone can help me with routing the crankcase breather tube on my 85R. I just replaced the reeds and since the carb was out, I decided to replace all the vent and drain hoses too. One of them has me stumped though...The original case breather went up about 4" from the T-fitting and looked like it had been ripped off so I don't know where it was originally routed. The shop manual shows it terminating up around the airbox, but I can't tell where. Is it supposed to have a filter or does it fit into the airbox somehow?
