So an experienced member gave me an awesome/reasonably cheap wheel modification replacement for the SX model. Basically replaced the existing OEM wheel with a 10x5 ITP wheel but with the correct measurement to accommodate the offset. It works great! Now I am seeing a thread on FB where guys are putting various Polaris 500 Atv rear shocks on SX's and then converting to either a 200x or 350x front fork or the entire triple tree assembly as a whole from either models. This upgrade is necessary bc the Polaris shock adds 3inches of clearance to the rear wheels plus softer suspension and the fork conversion lifts the front end to balance the lift. I like this idea. Minus the bigger engine it is almost like a perfect combination of an X and SX model. My dilemma is this. I am watching several parts on eBay. Some 500 Polaris shocks and a few different 200x fork tubes. I was wanting to use my OEM hub and tire with a 200x fork tube. I know the tubes will work with the triple tree but has anyone found a way to convert this so the sx front hub and brakes will work also? I also have a speedometer. I want to make the conversion so the speedometer I have works to. If the hub/axle for an SX will bolt on to the set of 200x fork tubes then I want this conversion. My only challenge after this is figuring out how to make the hub brakes work. Bc the 200x are not designed to mount the same hardware. Any advice?
