Help!! 1985 250m no spark!! New here!

I have a 1985 200M with a freshly rebuilt motor. I installed the motor and it fired right up. After my son and his friends finished doing some work on the back end, the machine will not start due to no spark. It cranks over good with the electric start but no spark. ????? The neutral light does not come on. It will not turn over unless I bypass the starter solenoid. There is also no spark when the rope is pulled. I am new to this site and would appreciate any help.

sounds like you have some type of electrical issue. Start by checking all the electrical components.

if they did work to the back end I would check there to see if they shorted a hot wire to the frame as that machine uses the frame as ground.

I just finished a 250es that had no spark. I replaced most of the plug in parts and still no spark.. finally found a bad connection under the headlight...just tricky sometimes...good luck...
