Well it's settled, your cat is a demon.

Uhm, not really with an auction set up as that one is. You're assuming they are worth 800 because a couple other guys assume near as much the same thing.
To really find out as your post states, a different strategy would serve you better. How I'd do it is not have any reserve, which you've done but I'd also lower the opening bid to something stupid, like $175 then I'd stretch the auction out to 10 days. That way lots of people find your auction, put it on their watch list, have time to form a buying strategy and to beg/borrow/steal the money to pull it all together, and in the meanwhile the price is getting bid up and there is lots of competition, which will only take the price higher, perhaps even higher than your 800 opening bid. Nobody will start the bid that high because they don't want to end up dropping a grand on three tires and I'm not talking about the added cost of shipping, I'm talking about the psychological dynamic that if one person says, yeah, they're worth 800 then he knows there will be another to push the bid a bit higher...so on and so fourth...the fear of having to compete, the fear of competition is always inherent in an auction.
It's always there...even more so at auctions in-person. I have years of experience at this, and Ebay as well. The key to it all either as a bidder or as a seller is to not give a sh1t...simple as that. In your case, to ascertain the true value of the tires you'll need to not give a sh1t what they get. If they are as sought after as you and others believe, your audience will validate that for you.
Is it much better if I play a psychological game with the buyers heads to make them pay more than they want or can afford?

I would think not, but your high opening bid already answers that question.

My opinion trailprotrailpro screwing itself over by not shipping them, only people in NY will want to bid. Offer shipping and trailprotrailpro odds of getting what trailprotrailpro asking will be a lot greater. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah Joe, you need to offer shipping. I have shipped tires like this for about $18 a tire. It really isn't that costly, and I think it would attract more buyers/bidders.
For some reason i cant chamge the shipping options. I consider myself fairly intelligent but I can't figure out this selling deal. I wanted to start the auction at a low number and have a reserve but there was no option to do that. All I could find was that it cost extra for a reserve, but no place to set it. I have in the description that I will ship them, I was hoping potential buyers would see that but if you two didn't notice it I'm sure a lot of other people didn't either. I'll keep trying, thanks for the advice

You should be able to modify the shipping options by logging into your eBay account then click selling Within there, you should be able to modify the shipping options.
Further, I would lower the starting bid and remove the reserve price.

Well, at least one bidder (not me) has spoken. They are worth at least $800 to him.
