Just checked the compression on my 1984 Honda 200ES.. 60PSI
What is a good compression?
Bike runs good, just wondering what compression is after a rebuild, when new? etc

60 psi sounds a little low. Did you have the throttle wide open when you checked it? If it runs fine then I wouldn't worry about it. I can't think of stock compression on that model but I think somewhere in the 100-120psi range should be good.

Stock should be 140 or so . Check compression with choke on , throttle wide open .

If that model has the automatic compression release that would also be giving you a false low reading. I know some of them had the cable connected to the recoil, some had a manual lever on the head. If its automatic try disconnecting it during the test.

The manual says " choke on throttle open " so thats how you need to check it . The compression release on a 200es is manual , so it doesn't open unless you open it . Mine tested out at 120 , all original 30 yrs old .
