Hi Y'all

I purchased an 85 ATC 250R a couple months back and am wanting to upgrade some of the parts.

It was ridden from 1985-1991 as a track race machine. Then put in a barn until i picked it up.

If that story is true it has a very old style Paul Turner pipe on it. Not sure which model but... To be honest looks identical to my modern PT high rev on another machine. (just rusty)

It has a few dents in it. There is a company down there in Central Point, OR that specializes in pipe dent removal. The company blasts the pipe, removes the dents and then puts a high temp black paint on it.

My question on this subject is: Should i cerakote the pipe instead of using the paint? There is a place close to me down in Amity that does cerakote for a great price.

Anybody have any experience with a cerakoted 2 stroke pipe?

Next topic is brake rebuild kits.

The honda site has most everything available to do this. But i want to rebuild the master cylinders while i am at it. Anybody have any experience with a company that makes good products in this department? Or... OEM only?

I was thinking of using BDT for this. They sell what looks to be nice kits?

Thanks!

If you use cerakote make sure it the high temp version then you will be good.

I prefer OEM brake parts if possible. (Not brake pads)

I have taken a few R pipes to Jet Hot for a ceramic finish. It cost about 80 bucks but they don't remove dents. I have used the aftermarket rebuild kits on the masters and calipers with no issues. The rebuild kits are pretty generic. The key is clean clean clean before assembly.

I ceramic coated the pipe on one of my 350x's. They did it in silver, looks almost like chrome. It holds up to heat well, but it will chip off if it hits something.
