Finally got my T3 out of the shed today! I've owned this bike for a number of years now, when I bought it from Madrid, Spain, it was unbelievably clean and original but the original owner had chrome plated the front pipe, pegs, shifter and brake levers. I had the chrome removed and repainted them. I also fitted a NOS set of OEM plastics as i had a spare set although the originals are still nice. Everything else is original, the frame has a small amount of rub as does the clutch cover but I'm going to leave it as is.21176621176721176821176921177021177121177121177 2211773211774
Sorry if the pics are a bit jumbled, finger trouble trying to download pics from my phone!

Very nice! The problem with having such a well preserved survivor is that you hate to ride it. I agree you should keep it as is. I got my 87 a few years back and it was in good condition but not great so I decided to restore it. I wanted to keep the OEM look overall but couldn't resist adding a few touches here and there to make it look better. I also ride it so I added a few performance upgrades. I powder coated the frame, did some porting, added a Calfab swingarm. I have a Sprock cool head I'll be adding soon. Here are some pics: 211776211777

um... that may be the second nicest OEM 87 T3 in the world behind that one in the Kawasaki distributor mini museum in Orange County California

Thanks guys, I'm very tempted to do some minor restoration here and there, freshen-up the plating on some of the fasteners etc but I think it is best left as is. There is not one speck of rust anywhere on the bike, even the underside of the frame is free from chips and scratches, the original owner must have only used it on grass.
As far as riding it goes, I've owned it for 4 years and I've never even started it! Haha

It would be a garage queen for me. When I finish my 2 other builds I plan on doing one original and not ride it.
Congrats on a beautiful bike!!!

Thanks for the compliments guys! I still have a few jobs to do as well as give it a good clean, those pics were taken in poor light and with 3 years worth dust. I'll try and get some bette pics posted ove the next week or so.
I hear what trailprotrailpro saying about the tank, if I could find a nicer OEM tank I would jump on it.
