My 86 200x shock blew on me this weekend does anyone know if the oring for the shock shaft is replaceable? Are there any suspension people out there that will work on these?

I needed a shock for my 86 200x, suspension builder told me it was too far gone to be worth rebuilding and something about the body was worn out. He found a shock off the quad that gave it 2" more travel and was a direct fit. I would be surprised if a 250x or 300ex shock is a direct fit, as both are no-link and bodies are very similar. Yes, I would think that most everything would be serviceable/replaceable on the shock.

I just found a new shock head for the 1st generation 200X at racetech but it doesn't look like they have anything for the 2nd generation. For a rebuilding service try: https://www.schmidtyracing.com/rebuildservice-s/1848.htm. They specialize in older shocks.

Send it to Andy Maul at Maultechatv. Link below. I have had a few rebuilds done by him. Quick turnaround at a decent price.
