I bought a head gasket (oem Yamaha). It looks like it has 3 pieces that are sandwiched together. Does it go in as one unit or do I peel one of them off? They are separated in a couple locations but for the most part they are stuck together. I'm not sure if they give you three in a pack. It does say one piece on the package. Any thoughts?

I would install it as is.
They call it MLS, Multi Layer Steel

Do NOT bend, peal or otherwise screw with it. It gets installed as is. If you had no issues before you removed the head just ake sure the mating surfaces of the cylinder and head are both spotless and torque it properly.
If you had a head leak before this don't proceed. Post back up and someone will explain what to do to fix it.

Thanks for the response. I didn't have a head leak. I changed the head due to snapping the exhaust bolts.
Now onto this head. I cleaned it spotless and installed the gasket. I torqued all bolts down in sequence. I then had to remove bolt number one as I had to change out the rocker arms and cams (long story).
Can I put bolt number one back in. Torque it back to 16 lbs....like all other bolts. Or should I put number 1 in. Torque to 17 lbs and then continue in the sequence. Or do I have to buy a new head gasket???
Need some help with this.
