ATC 350X / 300EX Sidecase differences

I was curious about this topic, because someone on EXRiders mentioned that he was running 350X sidecases on his 300EX for some reason. Are they really easily interchangeable? I ask this because I would be interested in seeing how easy the electric start would transfer over to the 350X. I realize that starting issues related to compression might make it impossible to do, but I wanted to know how doable it really is. Does a 300EX have kick start backup as well?

You may can more than likely run the left hand sidecase off the ex on the x,but there isn't anyway to run the right one, because the ex does not have a kickstarter. So if you put the 350X sidecase on the x you would have no hole fot the kickstarter and therefore you would have to cut the shaft off or something, and if you put the 350 side cover on the 300, you would have the hole from the kickstart and it wouldn't work.

Unless the 300ex can have the kick starter from a 350x added. Hmmm, You guys have sparked my brain here. Anyone have a 300ex motor I can Buy reasonable?

You see, people just need a spark sometimes to start the brain into gear! Personally, I think it would be best to change only the left side to get the starter, then have the kick as a backup. I am all about backup starting power.

And I just LOVE LOVE LOVE to kick my 350X over.

Use the 250X clutch cover. It's got the hole for the kickstarter. Starter should have no problem starting a 350X. Ran a Hi-comp piston in my 300 with no problems.

Dogger, Would you sell the motor straight out? What kind of stuff do you need?

hey howdy it's a bottom end in peices already. I'm not sure if everything's there never had it together myself. I'm in need of 350x part's if you'll sawp mainly motor bottom end or top.um cylinder head is one thing and any part's motor's for a bottom end.
