i have a set of ITP wheels with dune runner tires on em, and since i dont ride in the sand i wanted to get new tires for the rims and i was thinking about getting some 20' kenda klaws,. Has anyone ever ran 20' tires on 10' rims? would it be different to riding 20' tires on 8' rims?

yes it does feel different.. they are stiffer and "tighter",, handles better, not as much slop, and a big advantage is less sidewall to get damaged!

...Dont hit any rocks though. (in the sand you dont have too many worries)

I agree, they are definately more stable... My 250sx seems to like 'em ...

Hope you dont ride where its rocky. They would last me about a day. Less sidewall to damage, but the sidewall will handle more abuse than the rim. When trail riding its btter to have enough tire to protect the rim. See how you like them, but to me, anyways, a 10" rim is for the dirt track, and would work okay in dunes but not the trails, at least in Ohio.

They use them on the track because more rim and less tire is lighter, and because of the lack of sidewall to flex. When your not trying to powerslide, more tire with more flex gives you better traction, a smoother ride, and adequate rim protection.

i have a set of 20x10x10 fast trekkers on my 350X. they powerslide great and bite very well. they ride rough as heck! i'm going to buy a set of 22s for trail riding. BUT, the tires i have are stated to be 20" but only measure 18 1/4". i included a pic so you can see how flat they are. they are pretty good for road riding, but they make the front end extremely light. http://home.insightbb.com/~t.guinn/wsb/media/626700/site1008.jpg if you want to see more pics of the tires, go to my site, the button is under my signature.

That blue is awesome!

86/87 KXTs came from the factory with 20x11-10s on the rear. I like them.
