I've missed this for several years in a row and I'd like to try and catch it again if I can. Anyone planning on it? Its such a looooong haul for me, and very close to Trikefest so that makes it difficult but I'd like to do it if I can swing it this year.

I'll be there, but not to race, just for support some engines I'll have there. And anyone else for the matter.

I'll be there if I'm not still in the hospital from Unadilla the weekend before. I'm hoping to run some laps on the Cagiva 500

What are the dates? This is TT or flat track?

keister
05-17-2015, 07:13 PM
It's TT and you can guarantee 3 Keister boys every year.
It's normally one month after TF. I'll post dates tomorrow if someone doesn't beat me to it.
Billy, I'm 2 hrs away. If you can get to the Pittsburgh airport I can get you to the track and provide complete camp setup.

05-17-2015, 07:25 PM
Awesome, thanks Bill! I will see how it pans out, I'd love to have the rotax there and ride it, but a looong way from home if I get banged up there and the last time I went we spent more time on the road driving than we did actually there by the time going up and down, so I'd really rather not drive it again...

I'll pack my camera gear and fly up maybe to be there and hang out possibly worst case scenario if timing seems okay

I'll be there as long as I have a running bike. Last year was my first time racing and it was a blast! I hope I make it this year!

I'd like to make it if I can get the time away from work. I told Dan about it today. I'd like to bring the 650 and the 500 both if it's feasible. Once I get the dates I can run it by the boss.

Fabio, with the classes available there - both bikes you mentioned would have to run in open. I'm not telling you not to bring them both because you could get some descent track time on both in practice, but you would be unable to compete on both trikes unless you get the whole cloning thing figured out between now and then. I too have two open class bikes - which sucks for me. As a matter of fact, I tell myself every year that I am only going to run one class because it is such a strain both physically and mentally to race in two classes (and on the wallet too)- yet I have raced two classes every year I have ever attended. This year I am only racing in one class! OPEN. I will have a back up open bike just in case anything bad happens. One more thing - for me personally it sucks because I feel much more comfortable in the stock "vintage" class. I have historically done much better in that class also - But I just love running with the big boys in the open class. Not saying that the vintage class is slow by any means, because it is not. Your best bet would be to bring both - run both in practice, and see which one you are faster on. Hope to see you and Billy there this year. It is by far my most favorite race of the year. I will show up Thursday night as well. It is only 1.5 hours for me - and all secondary roads at that - no interstate highway. If you are looking for a 1/2 way house - hit me up - I could put you up the night before or after to break up your long travels. Same goes for you Billy, although I am not that close to the PGH airport.

Tim, thank you for such a well thought out post.

My first step is going to have to be clearing the time with work. If I get the OK there, then I can start making plans.

What I should have said was I'd like to bring the 650 for me and the 500 for TecateDan, provided Dan can make it as well. The 500 is clearly the faster bike, but I'm not positive that would translate to faster lap times for me because I've been tossing the 650 around a lot lately and drifting it on dry pavement. I'm dying to do something like this with it. Icefest showed me that I cannot expect to run with the modern conversions, but I'd just like to have fun and wring 'er out some, y'know?

I'm going to ask my boss about the dates and go from there. Thanks again for all the information and shared experiences! I'll see what I can put together!

Ok I am glad to see a post up, on 3ww about the NEEDT races Pine lake being one, I just got off the phone with Shawn and some other people about the races with the NEEDT. Shawn is working with me, Tim Sr. And TPC Bill on setting the races up. They will not be ran like the last races but close. Open class is different this year and the 70 pit bikes are still being talked about if it is going to be a free class, or if it should be like the quad pit bike class, and that's pay $20 a class and top three get all the $$$ in the pot. Shawn asked if I could get him a head count of who would be coming. Because of trophies and classes. And they will have a kids class. I will see if I can cut and paste some of what I got sent to me.

Ok I just talked to Tim Sr. and the best thing to do is share the link to the O.T.C Ohio Trike Crew site because with all the new things this year and with Shawn that runs the NEEDT needing a head count, so Tim Sr. Will be putting a post up this week and I will put a link up. Please look to see the new way it's being run. Thanks

In the past there has not been a 200. Class because of the lack of 200's, I will have one this year though. I already offered Fabio a place Tim then he reminded me that he has a camper.

I understand you guys are just talking but all the info and questions being answer right will be on the O.T.C. and Tim Sr. Is asking if anyone wants to run in the hardscrabble. Please go to the OTC site, say if your coming and if you are interested in the hardscrabble. Thanks everyone http://otc.myfastforum.org/about1348.html

Depending on your class numbers can become an issue. Sign up frist or bring black tape....maybe arm wrestle for it. The common X is also an option if your a duplicate number. The main thing is to be sure your scored properly if this happens. Well unless the scoring gives you the overall, then quickly get your trophy and go!

Im bringing my 261cc trike for the open class and Im also going to run Robs 200R in vintage A. I know my chances are better running the 261 in both classes but the 200r is so fun to ride I cant pass up the chance to ride it again. Theres so many great riders attending this race. I hope I can work my way up into the top 5 with the 200.That would put a big smile on my face. As far as the open class, I really have my work cut out for me on the small bore. I dont mind being the underdog.

Your petulance is amazing Mr Dunlap. I can do many, many things with the written word, however I will never claim to be able to replicate or be able to portray such petulance. Nobody will ever be able to portray such high levels of such juvenile behavior better than you can yourself, and this is why I thank you. Nobody will ever show the community who you are better than yourself.

Mr Dunlap, clearly this is a jab at me for our correspondence in the Trikefest Preparation thread. The difference is huge however, and seeing as you clearly don't realize that, allow me to elaborate. Your multiple, long, and at times in succession with nobody else posting in between posts were what's known as "thread hijacking". What that means is you had taken over the thread for your own agenda and lost track of the initial meaning. There were people posting in that thread with information pertinent to the event going on, and you were not one of them yet you were posting many times over and over with big paragraphs about how and why you weren't able to make the event. That's all great information if you'd like to share it, but start your own thread. Those of us who were at Haspin were having a great time and nothing there had anything to do with why you weren't going to make it. To be blunt, nobody cared. Don't take that personal, it's not because it was you not coming that nobody cared. It's a festival Mr Dunlap, and the spirit is festive by nature. Nobody wants to talk about how sick anyone is or something unfortunate or woe is me, etc. There have been many Trikefests before and they all went great sans (that means without) Micky Dunlap. In fact, one of the very few mentions of your name I heard all week was someone who brought up you possibly attending but not staying on site. The words "poor form" were used by the party concerned in description of your choice to segregate yourself from the rest of the event.

As far as my posting in this thread that I will not be in attendance, it is my responsibility to keep those involved with this event informed whether or not I will be attending which is what I did. It took me ten words to do so. I didn't post multiple times with pictures and paragraphs of why I'm not going and attempt to turn the event into my own personal outreach for sympathy, I wrote ten words telling those in charge I wasn't going to be able to make it. I'll ask you to please act a bit more mature in your future posting and by all means correct me when I'm wrong, but don't ever attempt to parallel your posting with mine. I wrote ten words just as you should have.

Slapped some new decals on my 450 last night. Looking pretty good in my humble opinion. New front tire getting mounted as I type this. I'm ready to race. Unfortunately, my 330R flat track bike is back on the back burner and might be re-purposed SOON. I am leaving tomorrow right after work. Should be track-side with a campfire going by sun down . Keister (Peepers) and Mike Solle (Rider296) will be joining me. Gonna be an awesome weekend!

Nick and I are here with our six wheel racers. The place is packed! Great turn out. I will post up some drone video next week when we get back. Any Three wheeler racer that wants video of them racing come see me. I have brought a few robot video cameras and can place a GPS tracker on your bike and the camera will follow you around the track. I have the Yellow Starcraft six wheeler and a green Hustler Tri Cart three wheeler here. Look for the guy with the Orange Mudd-Ox racing shirt.
