250es differential change

Im changing the rear differential in my 85 big red and i cant get the axle out. If i slide out the differential slide it hits and gets stuck when it gets to the differential. It wont slide out the brake side at all. Am i doing something wrong?

It will only come out on the right side of the trike. You need to remove the brake drum assembly, both hubs, and left axle tube.
