After looking for a liquid 250r for a few years with no success i settled for this beat 200x for 300 bucks in December and started the restoration in May. But go figure, i just finish this 200x up and May 15 i finally found a liquid 250r that i bought for 600 dollars running riding and complete. Anyways, I took it down to the frame and replaced all bearings, sand blasted and painted all parts. Tank was crumpled up like a beer can. so lots of dent pulling and body work and it turned out really nice. Really the only thing going for the 200x was that it ran good and had new tires. I bought a parts bike and ended up getting everything i needed for it besides fenders and then sold the parts bike for what i had in it. At the end of the day i have around 700-750 into the complete build just because of the cost of fenders. The exhaust i made from a 2014 Kawi 450 dirt bike and sounds really nice but not nearly as loud as a cobra or DG, which to me sounds like a gutted out stock exhaust. I now have a sweet old school +6 axle but do not have pictures of it right now. Also noticed that my tank decals were for the 86-87 200x but blue27 hooked me up with some 85 decals i have to put on yet. Seat cover is a 35 dollar cover from Thailand that looks great. Welded in a crossbar on the stock bars so i could add a bar pad. Also fork boots were a steal, They are rancho truck shock boots i got from autozone for 8 bucks. Took it upnorth over memorial weekend and hit the trails. Super fun but definitely could be faster. Im bad at taking progress pics but this is what i have.
