This guy has a 1982 atc 250r for 750.00.
Says it ran good but only runs with the choke on now and dies. he has extra jets for it.
i beleive this one looks in good shape compared to some of the beaters i have seen.
i would like to get the stock headlight though. are parts hard to find for this year?
i have had alot of 250rs in the past but never a gen1.
Do these gen1 atc's have more low end compared to other years?
I would like to keep it bone stock

thx

.
i can't comment on the price but i can tell you that if it ran good and shifted good etc, i would throw money at him . . one of the reasons is because it has the stock pipe and guard . . another is because it doesn't sound exhorbitantly priced to me.

i see no point in waiting for a "better deal" like some others do, if i pay a little too much i dont care because i know that i have it and dont have to wonder when the next one will appear.

also, i would still buy it if the engine needed work because i can do all that myself, but i would try to get a few bucks off the price.

i would definitely dump those horrible rear tires for a lower profile though.

Agreed. Get some aftermarket 10 inch aluminum wheels and RAZR or holeshot tires. Also add a kenda frontmax 22x11-8 up front. Otherwise looks good. I would offer 600 and negotiate the price

It looks like a good deal to me. I'd love to find a deal like that.

Are you insane? A bike that clean, especially an R, is well worth the $750 and then some. I say grab it before I do Lol. Let's say you only wanted to spend 5 or 6 hundred. What beat up pile of crap would that buy you? Nothing that looks, performs, or has the cool factor that R has. And surely won't be so nice and clean. Air cooled R's are never under a thousand bucks around here (more like 12-16) and I haven't seen one that nice for sale like ever. I would buy it for sure.

Definitely a good price. There's one on ebay right now in similar condition and the bidding is over $1000. I got my 82 a couple years back and am very happy with it.

THANKS FOR ALL THE REPLIES!
I spoke with him and he said he would take 700.00.
After a couple hours he texted me back and said he figured out the carb issue and it wasnt for sale no more :(
