So, I've gotten an ATC250R. Yay! I'm cleaning it up and polishing in out, and it's in good condition for how old it is and how long it just sat! It sat damn near 30 years and I pulled it out, cleaned the carb, removed the rotted air filter element, and it ran! Riding however, is a different story. The chain is rusted to hell and barely moves, so I took it off and am currently soaking it in some oil. The rear brake shoes are being stubborn. How do I remove the rear brake assembly?

Also, can anyone give me a little history on the '83 ATC250R such as new things implemented that weren't on the '82 models, etc? I'm not familiar with them.

Ok just to clarify, I need help removing the rear brake calipers. It's all frozen.

.

it is far more helpful for us if you try to be specific.

exactly what is frozen?

exactly what is the problem with the performance of the rear brakes.

It seems like its all frozen up to me. I took off the cylinder that's up more on the bike by the brake fluid input. That's definitely in need of a rebuild. How do I remove the rear brake disc and that whole assembly though? I can't seem to get it.
