Like the title states I'm wanting to know what the difference is between the 2 years? I'm sure there's a few but ill be doing an OEM nut an bolt job on an 84 and want to make sure I have everything correct, as it stands I think I have a mix of 83/84 on my trike. The only reason I ask this is with Darius posting the immaculate 83 he acquired, I can see a few differences in parts that I'm looking at, whether they be on Ebay, or friends across the country.

Things I have noticed so far:

Rear shock rez line either points up or to the side? which is which?

Linkage is different, that I have figured out the year....

Thanks

Chris

The swingarms are different. The linkage is different and the rear motor/shock mount is different.Side note of the 3 generations of 250r the 2nd gen is the only one that has a direct swap on the rear axle and bearing carrier.

83 shock is 1/2" longer then a 200x shock. 84 shock is about 1.5" longer then 83 R shock. 83R shock is only shock that can be bolted onto a 1st gen200X also.

Rear axle is 3/4" wider on the 84, although an 83 will bolt in.
